What is our Master Plan?

Our master plan is an organized effort to achieve a vision and it is a road map to show how we can continue to grow and minister to the needs of our parish community. The site Master Plan is a conceptual layout for a site. It looks at historically placed buildings, the next phase of growth, and the future growth. It will outline a logical phased growth plan and indicate the maximum potential usage of a site.

How do you create a Master Plan?

First a topographic survey of our property will be completed. Next, the overall land is analyzed with respect to streets, easements, buffers, zoning, setback, flood plains and natural features. The land remaining is the actual usable acreage. Then a study of all of the activities and events that take place at Saint Anne Parish will be conducted to determine the best use of current building and indicate what future construction needs look like.

Who are the selected architect and General Constructor?

ADW is the Architect Firm and JM Cope Construction Company is the General Constructor. These two firms have vast experience in both master planning and sacred architecture. We will continue to keep you informed and will be asking for input as we make progress in shaping a vision for the future of Saint Anne Parish.Key Elements of the Plan

Proceeds of the St. Anne Second Century Campaign, the parish’s first capital campaign in more than a quarter century, will be used to fund several critical needs. These projects comprise this phase of our parish Master Plan, which was developed after extensive interviews with affected groups and a survey of parishioners. The accompanying graphic illustrates the various projects. Below are descriptions and cost estimates:

Parking Expansion (Estimated cost: $1,245,795)

Parking at St. Anne Catholic Church is the parish’s most critical need. The 210 existing spaces cannot accommodate all the vehicles, a problem that only worsens on major Feast Days or when religious education classes are held on Sunday. The plan is to increase the number of parking spaces by 50%. The parking area will be asphalt on a crushed rock base and include curb, gutter and sidewalks.

Drive-Through Canopy (Estimated cost: $297,311)

A drive through canopy was part of the original plan in 1992 but was eliminated because of cost. The canopy is needed for parishioners who require assistance and for everyone during inclement weather.

Columbarium & Memorial Garden (Estimated cost: $1,177,754)

Relocating the temporary columbarium from next to the parking lot will allow for construction of an open-air chapel and garden in a wooded setting linked to the church by a path, which eventually will be lined by Stations of the Cross.

Kitchen Upgrade and Pavilion (Estimated cost: $313,836)

Our existing kitchen, constructed in 1998, basically is a warming kitchen, lacking an exhaust hood or fire-suppression system. The upgrade to full commercial status will permit meals to be prepared for as many as 200. In addition, an open-sided pavilion will be added behind the kitchen to allow for cookouts and picnics or for use as an outdoor classroom.

Administration Wing (Estimated cost: $1,727,052)

Since our church building was constructed in 1992, the parish staff has tripled. Despite extraordinary efforts to move walls, share meeting space and build storage units, both parish and school buildings are taxed almost beyond capacity many days. The new administration addition will house both staffs, increase meeting space for parish groups and enhance security by restricting access to a central point serving both buildings.

Campus Storage Building (Estimated cost: $239,252)

Parish organizations, such as the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul Society, the International Festival and the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts, lack adequate space for storage of equipment or supplies. The planned pre-engineered metal building will have lights, ventilation, wiring for communications and water service. There will be no offices nor bathroom facilities.

The Master Plan is a valuable tool for fundraising but we believe that the parish should understand that at this time it is still a planning document and subject to changes as new information warrants it.
