The Sacraments

“The seven sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life. They give birth and increase, healing and mission to the Christian’s life of faith. There is thus a certain resemblance between the stages of natural life and the stages of the spiritual life”

Anointing of the Sick

“Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint [him] with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.” – James 5:14-15

Baptism

Baptism is the sacrament through which someone is united to Christ, to His Church and to His way of living. It is the way that we are incorporated into the Body of Christ. We accept Christ as our Head and we understand and accept that we become members of His Body (the Church). This requires a fundamental recognition that we cannot save ourselves, but in fully embracing Christ Jesus we can experience the salvation that he offers. In the case of an infant (someone six years of age or younger), it is the parents or legal guardians who present the child for Baptism.

Reconciliation

No matter how far afield we go in our faith journey, through God’s mercy and forgiveness, we can always begin again. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated each Saturday from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM or by appointment with one of our priests. Call the Parish Office at (803) 329-2662.

Holy Eucharist

Saint Anne Parish is centered on Christ present in the Eucharist. Our parishioners are always encouraged to fully participate at Mass by preparing themselves to receive Christ in both the Precious Body and Blood and to carry Christ into the world through lives that reflect his presence in their actions.

Confirmation

St. Anne Parish will Confirm students in grades 9-12 who are properly registered at St. Anne Parish or attending St. Anne HS. Confirmation is a two-year program.  Students must fulfill the prerequisite Year One before continuing on to Year Two.

Marriage

To begin the wedding preparation process, please contact the parish office at (803) 329-2662 to speak to any of the priests or deacons. They will help you to reserve the Church for the date of your wedding and will inform you regarding the prenuptial process and other requirements. The priests or deacons also can be contacted about any and all questions you may have on the Church’s position related to an upcoming marriage.

Holy Orders

“Lord Jesus, send the Diocese of Charleston more priests, deacons, sisters and brothers. Choose faithful men and women from our homes, parishes, and schools to serve the People of God. Mary, Mother of the Church, help those who are called to offer a joyful “yes” to God’s invitation. Amen.”
